Poor customer service - This is my first ever review of anything on the internet, online shopping included. I've never been prompted to review anything up until now ...
I was at... read more LouMoon with a group of friends and it was a horrible experience. I mean there are some things beyond their control eg. the filth in the sea or the fact that one of us got stung by a jellyfish. However, they could do much better with customer service.
So on our first night, there was a snake in the dining area but not to worry, we were reassured that they don't bite LOL. That night we woke up to a huge centipede crawling in our room. No big deal except I had my nine-month baby crawling all over the place.
The horrors from this zoo pale in comparison to dealing with Mr. Douglas, the manager, an epitome of bad customer service. He took every opportunity to spring up new costs despite well-documented agreements and did not hesitate to underserve. Very sad and I feel terrible for the owner. If this guy continues to work there, I'm not sure there will be a LouMoon in a few years.
Tbh just dodge the bullet and go to Maaha. I haven't been yet but it definitely has to be a better experience. I pray things change for the better at Lou Moon but for now this is my candid review.

The pictures you see on social media does not do this resort justice,it’s insanly beautiful in real life,I could not believe believe this was in Ghana
The food omg was perfect,we paid extra to have dinner by the beach ..less than £10 and it was the best thing we did my husband and I were in our own world
We had our private butler who was very attentive to us and made sure we had the best night
In regards to the rooms we went for room 4 and the views were 10/10 waking up to the ocean was a dream come true ..if I’m to tell u all the good things about this resort I will right a book..book this place and u will never ever regret it ..we had the best anniversary here and I will certainly go back anytime am in Ghana More
19/10/2019Paradise on Earth - This is an exceptional, truly special place. I’ve never stated anywhere like this. The place is pure paradise, so meticulously designed and beautiful. Gorgeous, clean beaches. Food was good. The... read more staff are all exceptionally kind and helpful. The staff really cannot do enough to help you and are extremely friendly. I know it is difficult to pay for this accommodation if you are not from Ghana as it is by bank transfer which incurs quite a lot of fees but what we didn't know was that the price included breakfast and dinner. The food was one of many highlights of this trip. The chef is second to none and each lunch and dinner brought a new and incredible menu. The room... where do I start? We honestly have never stayed anywhere like this. Waking up surrounded by the ocean and just lying in bed listening to the waves was just magical.
There was no wifi in the rooms on the island but that was perfect. No tv in their either so you really can just relax and enjoy the surroundings. For those of you that need wifi, there is wifi in the bar area.
We really cannot recommend this place enough.
In terms of things to be improved, we really cannot think of anything at all! We would stay here again if we were ever to return to Ghana. More
25/06/2019Between two fishing villages near the border of Ghana with Cote'd Ivoire is the idealic setting for one of Ghana's picturesque holiday lodges, Lou Moon Lodge. Now, under new administration,... read more and with exciting plans for the future this small hideaway is worthy of a whisper to those with discerning tastes, an eye for the unusual, wishing to get away from it all.
Tasteful accommodations go well with an ever changing menu of local produce, fresh fish and seafood, with just a hint of West African influence.
The keyword is RELAX. Service is impeccable and the staff is at hand but not intrusive.
Elegant, laid back, and just beautiful. Each morning felt as though our ship had just sailed into a new port somewhere intoxicating.
My Dearest enjoyed the massage sessions on the beach, or under the coconut tree near our bungalow. An honestly relaxing time away. We are grateful.

Swimming was great in the sheltered bay, although the water was not very clear it was nice to sorkel a bit too (saw a (dead) seaturtle , a parrotfish and much more smaller fish of differet species. Snorkelset was available to borrow and we got clean towels every day for the beach and another set for bathing. We enjoyed a wholesome massage.
Very friendly management and staff in general! Food and service were good although a few of the veggie dishes could have been a bit more well thought out (the spaghetthi mocking squash was great though!). They have a nice vegetable garden up the hill where the grow some of the vegetables and herbs used in the kitchen. Having a look there as well as walking further along the footpath towards the next village was very enjoyable and recommendable! The forest is pretty lush and there are little plots of cassava here and there. Some nice birdwatching can be done here and the views along the path and beach are pretty. We didn't reach the village at the end of the path.
Personally I feel the place could only appeal to me more by being somewhat more 'eco', e.g. promoting wildlife watching, doing social/environmental projects in the community, installing solar panels, biogas installation, etc. although they may have very good reasons for not doing so (or me not knowing about it). Also the electricity during dinner runs on a generator, to avoid powerdips. Understandable but not very 'green'. I dont know if there is a reasonable alternative.
Other than these small remarks I can only recommend the place as a very nice beach retreat to totally relax and indulge yourself. Best enjoyed at the end of your trip to Ghana I guess! 🙂 Considering the food being included and the great service, its good value for money. To top it off the owner was nice enough to let drive with him to Accra. Merci beaucoup, au revoir!

Just left Lou moon resort where I had a one night stay after leaving cape coast. The resort itself is beautiful, the food is lovely. The butlers Kennedy and Fred are very helpful. But do BEWARE the nickel and diming and unexpected charges applied to your bill upon check out. Specifically with the front desk staff - Grace and Elsie. Prior to my arrival I had been in communication with Grace about my booking, the number of rooms and the number of guests. I had also made a 50% deposit in advance. Upon arrival, Elsie informed me that I was booked for 4 rooms instead of 3 and urged me to make use of the 4. At checkout the bill was completely botched!! I was charged for spaghetti and pumpkin soup for guests that left the day before!!! Moreover the bill that had been previously supplied by Grace was now higher due to the addition of children that Grace had included. In other words, they tried charging twice for kids. I left the hotel paying $300 more dollars than I intended to!!! Also note, while food is included in half board, no drinks are included. You even have to pay for water. Douglas the manager tried to assist upon departure but was unable to do much. All in all, I will not be returning. There are other resorts popping up in ghana that adhere to honest billing practices. For example, Busia Paradiso has peaked my interest. Despite the wonderful ambiance, I do not want to deal with the poor communication of Lou moon again.

I can say with certainty that It was the best view from a hotel room that I have ever seen. ... read more We slept with all doors open and the ocean sounds every night and woke up to see paradise. Panoramic views from each side. No mosquitoes, just the ocean and you. If you want pure romance. This is the place.
We drove down in a 4x4 from Accra in one day, stopping at Elimena en route. We had a rubbish map but made it in 6 hours (pleasant journey and fascinating through the villages). The track to the hotel is definitely a 4x4 challenge and great fun once you have done it twice! We visited lots of places from the hotel and it feels like we have had complete luxury and lots of little adventures. The staff were hilarious, kind and thoughtful. Perfect holiday and I feel very sad to leave after 5 days.
This would be a perfect place to hire out for a wedding or party... we are coming back!
