What type of electrical plug adaptor is needed in Ghana?
The plugs and voltages (240v) in Ghana are the same as the EU. UK and US guests will need a 2 or 3 pronged UK style adaptor. An international multi-plug adapter is provided in all rooms at Lou Moon Lodge.
What is the local currency?
Final prices and invoices are only issued in Ghana Cedi using the relevant foreign exchange rate of the day. At the lodge we also accept Visa and MasterCard. Payments for bookings are also accepted using Electronic Bank Funds Transfer, Mobile Money (MOMO), Credit Cards ( Master & Visa) and Cash (GHS, USD, Euro, Pound Sterling)
How do I locate the resort by road?
Please follow the directions on our Find Us page or op for GOOGLE MAP Navigation.
For airport transfers where will the driver be waiting?
Airport transfers can be arranged with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. The driver will be waiting in the arrivals area at Takoradi Airport, wearing a Lou Moon Lodge uniform or branded golf shirt.
Is there a 24 hour front desk at the lodge?
No. Reception is open to guests and the public from 7:00 am GMT to 10:00 pm GMT.
Check-in/Check-out Policy
Standard check-in time is 2:00 PM and standard check-out time is 12:00 PM. Early check-in or late check-out may be requested prior to arrival, or from reception upon arrival, subject to availability.
Is the lodge suitable for children?
Yes, it is rather well suitable for children, but we can’t prevent all risk related to the usual west African pests, flying, crawling on earth and in the water. All guest are requested to stay in clear and weeded area. Parents are to monitor their children, mainly when using story facilities with balcony or close to the shore bank. The lodge do not bear any responsibility about any accidental occurrences inside or outside the premises.
Is there provision for disabled guests?
Limited, as only the restaurant and one ground floor accommodation can be reached with a wheelchair our Public washroom is not wheelchair friendly.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not permitted at the resort or restaurant.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Self-catering with outside food and beverages is not allowed.
Is the resort available for exclusive use?
The resort is an ideal escape for groups as the entire property can be hired for private use. Please contact us for more details. We have 9 rooms and can also make arrangements with nearby partner hotels for additional sleeping capacity for a group if required.
Can I drink the tap water?
We have a borehole on the property that produces clear fresh water. However, as this water has not been filtered we do not recommend that you drink it. Bottled water is available for consumption. Also, despite having some reserve water, our borehole has a low yield and we ask guests to please not waste any water.
What happens to the waste water?
We have a sophisticated waste water treatment system installed on the property to ensure no waste water enters either the sea or the water table. The treated waste water is suitable to recycle and reuse in the gardens.
Are there a lot of insects?
The ocean breeze keeps most bugs away, but at certain times of the year there are mosquitoes and house flies. There are mosquito nets in all Lou Moon rooms, and we are happy to provide insect repellent if you forget your own.
Is WI-FI available in the rooms?
Due to our remote location internet connections via national mobile networks can be extremely slow. In order to remedy this we have installed our own point to point radio tower to provide WI-FI access across the resort.
Are there TVs in the rooms or common areas?
Yes, we do have smart TV’s installed in the rooms if you do feel the need for some digital entertainment although we strongly encourages rest and relaxation in the resorts peaceful setting, surrounded by nature.
Do you provide beach towels?
Yes we do both in the rooms in a beach basket for convenience and at the beach on request.
